Meet the coaches and staff that make Miramar Mermaids a fun and safe place for your swimmer to participate in the sport of Artistic Swimming (Synchronized Swimming). Our coaches and staff are USA Artistic Swimming and SafeSport certified.
Carolina Mindiola
JO and Intermediate Coach - Judge
Carolina is a founding Coach of the Miramar Mermaids. Mother of a member of the Senior USA Artistic Team.
María Elena Giusti
JO and Intermediate Coach
María Elena Giusti Lugo is a retired synchronized swimmer from Venezuela. Attended the 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympics as an athlete and the Sydney Olympics in 2000 as a coach. Won the NCAA title in figures, solo, duet, trio, and team in 1989, 1990, and 1991. Won Silver in 1991 Pan American Games in La Havanna, Cuba, and Bronze in 1995 in Mar Del Plata, Argentina. Ohio State Buckeyes’ most outstanding swimmer in 1989. Member of the OSU Hall of Fame. Coach Maria Elena started coaching for the Miramar Mermaids in 2021.
